Severed Hand Found at Birchtickle

A severed hand found by two schoolboys on the edge of Birchtickle pond has started a murder enquiry. Detective Chief Inspector Adam Lazarus, the police officer who caught the ‘Father Christmas Gang’ that robbed the Muckleford branch of the Oxford and Dunham bank, is investigating the mysterious and horrid discovery.

Lazarus is a highly regarded police detective who has been promoted at breath-taking speed. Superintendent Obadiah Pearight, Lazarus’s superior officer, stated that his Chief Inspector was ‘among the best currently working for the Winchester C.I.D’

The severed hand though is a very unusual case for it appears that the hand was amputated from the body possibly years ago. The question is this: who does the hand belong to and where is the body?
