I've always likened writers to painters, but I suppose sculptors are a rather more appropriate metaphor. Big blunt movements and then detail.

You know, maybe that's the source of my writer's block. I'm too detail focused.

Huh.

Ryn: You know how they are in the states: throw medicine at it and get it out of the office XD sometimes nice, sometimes not so effective.

I think the only way to beat writer's block is to keep at it even if what you write is a pile of old tosh. You need to keep the flow going then do the tidying-up with the edit.

So many say that's the way to go, Russell. Editing is really hard work, though.

Nessa>>>I agree. It is slow and sometimes painful but i guess that is the nature of what we do. I truly believe that hardwork goes hand in hand with talent.

nessa>>>PS. And as I am a lazy old git and talentless too, I guess that is the end of my writing career!!!
