Girl Power - The GTO's

What is wrong with kids today? All that loud music, rebelliousness, attitude gone replaced by a desire to be thin, nice and never grow old. It wasn’t like that in my day, no sir.  We knew our place and our place was to challenge, to be rude rotten young rebels. We didn’t accept what went before as being the only way and as for girl groups, ptah! We had the real deal…

Of course, The GTO's were anything but average. They didn't exactly conform. They did have one thing in common with modern girl groups, though, they revealled ample amounts of flesh.

Being girl friendly presented no problems either although Mum's and Dad's did find some of their behaviour a little shocking even if secretly Dad was quite turned on by some of the things they did.

Of course, some things never change. The GTO's couldn't play anything unless it was boys heartstrings, they had to rely on other musicians to do that for them but nonetheless they caused quite a stir back then.

We all loved them, though. Not just because they were Girls Together Outrageously tickling our juvenile male fancy but because they dared to be different. God bless their cotton socks.
