Less weird this afternoon when Lesley, Sarah and I went to see Mum, she still seemed confused but nowhere near as bad as last night. She did ask if I had seen Charlotte in the hospital restaurant. Of course Charlotte was in doors and had been all day. Mum was convinced that she had seen Squid earlier on but of course she hadn’t. Derek was there when we arrived but, having shook my hand, left us to sit with Mum who was so pleased to see Lesley and Sarah. Just as we were settling down saying the sort of rubbish people do when visiting hospitals so another friend of Mum’s turned up, a large lady who I had never seen before. She seemed nice enough and so the three of us went to the restaurant where we sat and drunk coke light.
The conversation was enjoyable and it is always good to see Lesley. We spent a lot of time together when we were young and she still has the same wicked sense of humour. I think both Lesley and donna found Mum’s condition, although patently getting better, a little upsetting. We didn’t stay that long as Steve was parked off site in a back street. Mum seemed slightly upset by the speed of the visit. I promised her that Jasmine would visit later and that I would stay with her overnight if allowed.
